Betco Block delivery

May 30 1956. Next, the four loads of cinders were delivered to "the cinderman". Betco Block diverted to the East, just South of River Rd.

    That's interesting. I wonder what a Reading car was doing here?

    Hoppers did migrate around a bit - not anyware as much as boxcars, but you can see random Reading cars mixed into B&O coal trains in the era.

    Or, maybe that car suggested that these cinders were shipped here from anthracite country? I've wondered where Betco block got its cinders. I always assumed they were B&O locomotive cinders, shipped from Brunswick. But perhaps they came from Pennsylvania? Or perhaps the sources of cinders got further afield as B&O dropped its fires in steam engines?
