April 4, 2004: Drop ceiling, episode 4

04-04-04, how do you like that. Well, today my Father-in-law Bruce came over again to lend a hand on the drop ceiling. We managed to basically complete it, with only a few small 2'x2' tiles left to install, which I'll do myself. Bruce was a huge help getting everything to go up and also to troubleshoot various issues. For example, the main "T's" did not fit properly; the series of holes meant to recieve the cross braces did not start at the end, they started about 4" out from one end. Therefore, it was impossible to put in the panels starting from "0". Solution? Flip the "T" around and start from about 1.5' in and cut the panels to fit. Worked like a charm. This is probably a no-brainer for someone who installs this stuff all the time, but for someone who has never done it, it proved to be tricky! Let me say that I'm very glad it's done!
