April 3, 2004: Drop ceiling, episode 3

I got the panels up in the left side of the room. I also did some more spackling & drywall trim around the HVAC ducts. The paneling went up pretty easily. It's a bit of a hassle to get everything to fit, and since my ceiling is already low it was hard to get the panels up into the metal framework. A trick is to leave one brace off (a cross bar) and feed the tile up thru the large area and slide them up over the framework into position. Instead of using a riveter to fasten the cross braces to the side L-brackets I drilled holes and screwed small metal screws in. This worked exceptionally well and is removeable if I like. More work tomorrow.
