January 20, 2004: Trim, Spackling, Insulation & Conduit

Over the past few days I've done a bit more w/ the room. * The trim around the corners of the room is basically done. I have some to do on the ceiling, but that's basically it. I used some composite (plastic?) L-shaped stuff that imitates wood. It takes nails very well and is pretty easy to cut and finish.
* I spackled some of the low ceiling area in prep for sanding & painting.
* I used some of that Great Stuff spray insulation (STICKY) to plug up some holes and prevent dust from coming thru. The foundation between our house and a Sunroom addition that was built in 1995 was broken up in the process. I put this spray insulation in place to hold the crumbs from falling any further (I already brushed away everything I could) and to keep cool air out. I have to do some more, but overall I'm pleased. I used cardboard "dams" in some instances to keep the spray Insulfoam in place.
* The electrical drops around the room on the cinder block walls are in place. I used some Wiremold Metal Raceway to do this. The process was relatively easy after I watched a quick video on their website on how to do it. The stuff is nice and sturdy. This was also my first time using the Tapcon Masonry Anchors - they work GREAT!
