First thing I notice is that the side track has been shortened so it does not cross Connecticut Ave as it once did. Next thing I notice is that although there are no cars on that track, it is clear from the tracks in the gravel next to it that it has been active. In the distance: is that a boom? That would match other reports I've heard that stone for the construction of the national cathedral was unloaded here. There was another siding on the left with a trailing point connection going south, but in this view it appears that it may have been overgrown. When I first came here in 1981 it was long gone, disappeared into the woods.
