B&O GP7 #727 leaving Bethesda

Jan 17, 1956. Headed for Georgetown Jct. View is from Wisconsin Ave., facing Bethesda Ave. The parking lot in the background with the 1955 Buick is behind a hardware store which faced Wisconsin Ave.

<i>* A note from B. Elliott: "The hardware store that is being referenced, to the left, out of the photo was called Community Paint & Hardware. The cars to the left are parked behind the store. Elm St is on the right, just out of the photo."</i>

Based on the previous photo, it seems that the Georgetown local has picked up a cement hopper at Maloney Concrete and it is right behind the engine. I wonder if that boxcar that comes next also came from Bethesda? Next are 4 tank cars. You don't see so many tank cars in later photos, but it seems they still moved in 1956. Did they come from the River Road area? Then hoppers. They could have come from Georgetown obviously, but given the line up, I wonder if they came from Betco Block, just south of River Road?
